Alabama State Requirement: To meet Alabama's Cosmetology program standards and become eligible for the licensing examination, students are mandated to accumulate 1500 hours. Additionally, it's a requirement that students complete 15% (250HR) of their credit hours before they can engage in salon floor activities. Please note students are required to hold a high school diploma or GED for admission.
Schedules:
Full-Time: Our full-time classes run from Monday to Friday, with sessions starting at 8:30 AM and concluding at 4:00 PM. There is a 30 minute lunch break. With perfect attendance, students attain 7 hours daily, totaling 35 hours per week. This structured regimen generally leads to program completion in around 49 weeks.
*Coming Soon! - Part-Time: For the convenience of our part-time students, classes are held in the evening from Monday to Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 PM and ending at 9:00 PM. With perfect attendance, students accumulate 4 hours daily, which sums up to 12 hours per week. In this case, students can typically expect program completion in approximately 125 weeks.
Flexible Transition: For students enrolled in the night shift program who may prefer a switch to daytime classes, the option to transfer to day sessions becomes available when new daytime classes are scheduled to commence. This flexibility ensures that our students can align their education with their evolving needs and preferences.
Kits:
At Guinn Beauty Institute, our Cosmetology Program comes complete with comprehensive kits meticulously designed to set our students up for success in the beauty industry. These kits feature styling tools and professional equipment, providing students with the tools of the trade. Students will receive one set of olive green scrubs as their school uniform included in their tuition. Additional uniforms may be purchased through GBI. As part of the kit, students also receive their essential textbooks, guaranteeing they have all the resources they need to excel in their beauty education journey and confidently step into their future careers.
